So I called INCASE. A very nice woman explained that the Retina cases were not in stock. They would be in soon. As for the rubbery feel, that was no longer available, and I should look at the textured cases, not the hammered, for a similar feel. A short time later I received an e-mail the Retina cases are in stock!!!! I went to the web page picked my pink sapphire textured case and bought it.( Pink sapphire is more of a red wine.) I fits beautifully, as did my old one. I LOVE the textured case.
It fits like a glove. It is protecting my MacBook pro nicely and I cannot complain. I also purchased another case as a gift for someone and she is also in love with how well it is protecting her laptop. I haven't dropped my laptop so I cannot speak about how well it held up but this case is just a hard plastic shell that protects it from any accidently scrapes and scratches, I cannot see it protecting more then that as it is not a bumper to help absorb shock when the product falls. Besides the fact that shipping was a bit on the slow side, the case is a hit!
